3.4 - Layout of environment

Decoration and furniture

Formatting the environment usually consists of placing decorations, and in some cases furniture within the property(s). For this you can use a predefined set of Decorations and Furniture. This can be found within the Content Browser in the Plan Editor and, like many functions within Innobrix, works on a drag-and-drop basis.

Keep in mind that decorations can impact the load time of your project. Not so much the amount of decorations, but but the number of different types of decorations that can have an impact here. The more different decorations, the longer the loading time.

Module 1: Introduction!
Welcome to the Innobrix Academy!
STEP 23
  1. Open the Decorations tab, select a category, and drag a self-selected decoration element into the 3D environment. The object you drag into it can be moved G and rotated R.
  2. Click on the Detached Property and then open the Furniture tab. Drag and drop at least one piece of furniture on each floor present.
Are your furniture at the wrong height?

The cause of this phenomenon is due to incorrect walk mode settings. This is because the furniture is placed at the same height as the walking mode settings (per floor). You can use the End key to "snap" a selected object (such as a piece of furniture) to the nearest floor.

Convenient controls

Of course, it is not always practical to drag decorative elements into the environment one by one. For this purpose, we have developed two handy functions and hotkeys that can speed up this process.

Group

Hold HOLDCTRL while selecting (multiple) objects and then hit CTRL + G to put these objects into a Group, so that you can easily (re)select these objects in one click.
Ungrouping can be done by selecting a Group and then hitting CTRL + SHIFT + G.

Duplicate or copy

You can select an object in the environment and then use CTRL + D to make a copy. Depending on your currently selected objects, you can thus copy multiple objects (or groups) at the same time.
