1.2 - Importing into Innobrix

Creating a BIM Publisher project

You need the IBX file to upload into Innobrix and fill your (Models) Libraries with content. The IBX file contains all geometry and material information Innobrix needs to show the model correctly in the web environment. You also need an IBX file for any model updates.

Innobrix Studio is where you manage projects, plans, and more.

This is where projects are created. On the BIM Publishers page you can create BIM Publisher projects.

That is what we focus on in this tutorial.

Your first steps in Innobrix!
STEP 2

Use the Create new project button on the BIM Publishers page in Studio to create a new project.

Multiple project properties are available, but for now a suitable name is enough.

However, we still need the Model to fill the project. You import the model not inside a project, but into a Models Library.

The idea is that you import content into a Library and use projects as a way to present that content.

Chapter 1.2b: Importing into Innobrix!
How do you import the IBX file?

The Innobrix (*.IBX) file can be imported into a Models library. One Library can contain multiple models and share materials across them.

STEP 3a
  1. Create a Library named "Tutorial" on the Models page in Innobrix Studio.

  2. Click + New Model.

  3. In the popup, drag and drop an IBX file or click the field and select the IBX file to upload.

  4. ...Wait until processing is finished and a thumbnail appears.

Note: Processing time can vary and depends heavily on what was exported from Revit. More objects and heavy detail mean a longer process.

The project you created earlier now appears as a new thumbnail on the projects page. Clicking the empty thumbnail opens the 3D project environment we call the Plan Editor. The Plan Editor is where you drag and drop your imported content.

STEP 3b

Click the project thumbnail on the BIM Publishers page to enter the Plan Editor. Then drag the imported Model from the Content Browser into the 3D environment.
