1.2 - Import into Innobrix

Creating a BIM Publisher project

You need the IBX file to upload into Innobrix and fill your (Models) Libraries with content. The IBX file contains all the geometric and material information Innobrix needs to properly display the model in the web environment. properly displayed in the web environment. For any model updates, you also need an IBX file.
Innobrix Studio is the environment where you can go for all projects, plans and more.

It is here where the projects are created. On the BIM Publishers page you can create BIM Publisher projects. For this tutorial, we are going to focus on this.

Module 1: Introduction!
Welcome to the Innobrix Academy!
STEP 2

Use the Create New Project button on the BIM Publishers page in the Studio and create a new project. There are several project properties available and configurable, but for now just an appropriate name is basically enough to fill in.

However, we need the Model to populate the just created project with. And that model you import not within a project, but into a Models Library.

The idea behind this is that you import content into a Library and use projects as a way to present that content.

Import the IBX file into a Models Library

Chapter 1.2b: Importing into Innobrix!
How to import the IBX file?

The Innobrix (*.IBX) file can be imported within a Models library. One Library can contain multiple models, where materials can be shared across multiple models.

STEP 3a
  1. Create a Library named "Tutorial" within the Models page in Innobrix Studio.
  2. Click + New Model.
  3. In the popup that appears, you can drag 'n drop an IBX file or by clicking the field simply navigate to the IBX file and upload it that way.
  4. ...Wait for the processing process ⏰ to end and a thumbnail of the model to appear.

N.B: Exactly how long this processing process takes can vary, and depends greatly on what was exported from Revit. The more "objects" and high level of detailing of geometry, the longer this process will take.

The previously created project has appeared as a new thumbnail on the projects page. Clicking on the 'empty' thumbnail will take you to the 3D project environment which we call the Plan-Editor. The Plan-Editor is the environment in which you can drag' n drop your imported content.

STEP 3b

Click on the thumbnail of the project on the BIM Publishers page, and use that to go to the Plan-Editor. Then drag and drop the imported Model from the Content Browser into the 3D environment.
