Home types
Home types are a concept within Innobrix that allows you to set up, save, and reuse different (externally shareable) variants of your Configurables in your projects and/or plans.
Both within a plan or project, it is possible to use Configurables
and save them in specific configurations (with options) or compositions as derived Home types
. You can think of them as ‘saved configurations’ that you can reuse over and over again. The unique thing about Property types is that these models can be shared with other Innobrix users (such as housing associations).
Users with the role of Account Manager can only use Home Types in their plans. However, they are able to create their own Home Types based on the current Home Types to which they have access.
Once a Home Type is placed in a project or plan from the Content Browser, there is no longer a ‘link’ to the original Home Type. This means that any changes you make to the Home Type will NOT be applied retroactively to the Homes that exist based on that Home Type.
Creating a Home Type
Creating a Home Type can be done by anyone with the system role of Account Manager and Company Manager.
Creating a Home Type in Innobrix Studio
- Go to the Home Types page in Innobrix Studio.
- If you have not yet created a Home Type library, you can click on
+ Create new library
. - Give your new Library a name and upload a nice image as a thumbnail, if desired. (This will also be used when you share models from this Library with other users). Then click on
Save
.
- Once a Home Type Library is available, you can click on
+ Create Home Type
to create a new Home Type. - Give the Home Type a name and upload (optional) an image of the relevant Home Type.
Home types can be duplicated individually using the copy button . Complete libraries cannot be duplicated in one go.
- Then click
Save
to confirm. You will then be taken to the Home Type Editor.
Three parts of the screen are relevant for setting up a Home Type (see image above):
-
Option menu: here you select the options that should be enabled (or disabled) for this Home Type. The options available for pre-definition depend on the Configurable you are using. You can also adjust the prices of the options that are displayed here. See also: Price differentiation
-
Models / Configurables: From the Content Browser, you can drag Models (without options) and Configurables (with options) into your 3D environment to get started with the Property Type.
-
Properties: Here you can enter the description, base price, and more information.
You can use this information to provide your Housing Type with the correct content. All changes you make here are automatically saved in the Housing Type.
Creating a Home Type in a BIM Publisher or Home Configurator project
You can create a Home Type via the context menu (right mouse button) in the scene hierarchy of a Home Configurator or BIM Publisher.
Here you can also give it a name and assign the Home Type to a new or existing Library.
Creating a Home Type in a Plan Configurator plan
Creating a Home Type in the Plan Configurator can be done via the Home Properties
panel.
Placing a Home Type
You can use a Home Type in a project or plan by dragging it from the Content Browser into the 3D environment.
Navigate to Home Types --> [Name of Home Type Library] --> [Name of Home Type] or use the search function in the Content Browser to filter. Click and drag the thumbnail of the Home Type you want to place into the 3D environment and wait for the model to load.
Sharing a Home Type (as the providing party)
It is possible to share (and receive) House Types with and from external Innobrix users. This can only be done per House Type (i.e. not entire House Type libraries at once). House Types can be shared from the House Types page.
Click on the share button to open the share menu, where you can select the companies with which you want to share the relevant Property Type. Please note that the receiving party will not receive a notification (from Innobrix) when a Property Type is shared with them. It is therefore advisable to first check with the receiving party that it is okay to share a Home Type.
The recipient of a Home Type
- A recipient does not have access to the underlying Configurables or Models of the Home Type(s) you have provided.
- A receiving party also cannot create their own Home Type(s) based on a received Home Type.
- A receiving party does have the option to adjust the option prices of the received Home Type [via the price differentiation functionality].
- If a receiving party wants to use the Home Type, the received Home Type(s) must first be made available in their own project via Project Edit -> Shared Libraries
